Seedloaf’s roadmap for 2026
Features planned for Seedloaf in 2026
Seedloaf has been publicly usable for about two years now. A thing that originally started out as a passion project has managed to get over 100,000 signups. That was something we would’ve laughed at if you had told us on Seedloaf's starting days. In 2025 we launched some essential features marking the end of the beta phase for Seedloaf. We acknowledge this article is over THREE months late but here’s what’s coming in 2026 on Seedloaf!!
- Google Drive Backups
By the end of 2026, we will have introduced Google Drive backups in Seedloaf. You, as a user can store your server backup directly in your personal Google Drive account. This will give you more "ownership" over your server files and will helps us reduce server storage costs. This will also be a huge guard against mishaps that have happened in the past. We believe this is a significant step toward long-term sustainability for Seedloaf - A Dedicated Social Hub on the Website
We've always strongly urged players to promote their servers on Discord but it has always turned into a spammy channel with the same folks promoting the same servers over and over again redundantly. Now we're going to create a social hub on the website where you can promote their server for others to start and play. Additionally, you can optionally create a public page that integrates with Discord, letting you post updates or invite players as the server owner. These public pages will feature uploadable server images, Markdown-supported descriptions, & Discord server invites. Since this will be publicly available on Seedloaf's website, it'll be monitored - One click Mod Installation
At this moment, installing mods requires you to download it on your local device first, then your server. We will soon roll out a feature that will greatly simplify this by allowing you to install whatever mod/plugin you'd like to install directly through Seedloaf. This will entirely remove the cumbersome step of manually installing mods, especially for beginners
This feature will remain optional. You'll always be allowed to upload directly too! - More Server Types
You will soon have access to broader selection of server types like snapshots, experimental versions and evem potentially Arclight - Easy Backup Restores
The only way to restore a backup on Seedloaf currently is manually downloading the entire backup onto your local device and uploading it. Now, you can easily install whatever backup you have saved by a click of a button
